General
Where are you based?
We’re based in Mudgeeraba on the Gold Coast (Mudgeeraba QLD 4213).
What areas do you service?
The whole Gold Coast, the Tweed Coast and Northern Rivers down to Byron Bay and Ballina, and Logan and Brisbane. See service areas.
Are you licensed?
Yes. We’re a licensed electrical contractor. Licence details are on our licences and insurance page.
What are your hours?
Mon to Fri 6:30am to 5:00pm, Saturday 7:00am to 12:00pm. Urgent after-hours work by arrangement.
Quotes and pricing
Do you give free quotes?
Yes, we provide free written quotes. For small jobs we can often price from photos. Larger or more complex jobs usually need a site visit first.
What affects the price of electrical work?
Mainly access (ceiling space, slab, height, occupied building), the condition of the existing wiring and switchboard, the fittings or equipment chosen, and whether work needs to be done after hours. We explain the main cost drivers in every quote.
Why can’t you give me a price over the phone?
Two jobs that sound the same can be very different once you see the switchboard, the roof space or the cable route. A written quote based on photos or a site visit protects you from surprises.
Residential
How do I know if I need a switchboard upgrade?
Warning signs include ceramic fuses, no safety switches, frequent tripping, a board that’s warm or buzzing, or not enough space for new circuits like air conditioning or an EV charger. See switchboard upgrades.
Do I need to be home while you work?
For most jobs someone needs to let us in and show us what’s needed. For rentals we can arrange access with the property manager and tenant.
What are the Queensland smoke alarm rules?
From 1 January 2027 all Queensland homes need photoelectric, interconnected alarms in every bedroom, in hallways connecting bedrooms and on every storey. See our guide.
Can I do my own electrical work?
No. In Queensland and NSW electrical work must be done by a licensed electrician. Unlicensed work is dangerous, illegal and can affect your insurance.
Commercial
Do you provide SWMS and ITPs?
Yes. We prepare SWMS for our work and ITPs where the project requires them, and hand over test results, as-built drawings and compliance certificates at completion.
Can you work after hours?
Yes. Retail, hospitality, office and healthcare work is often best done early, late or on weekends. We plan shutdowns in advance with building management and occupants.
Do you offer maintenance agreements?
Yes. We set up planned maintenance covering routine inspections, emergency lighting testing, test and tag, thermal imaging and reactive repairs. See maintenance contracts.
How often does emergency lighting need testing?
AS/NZS 2293.2 sets out routine testing, including six-monthly discharge tests with results recorded in a logbook. See emergency and exit lighting.
