Industrial work near the airport
This part of Brisbane’s TradeCoast is built around moving goods, and the electrical has to keep up. Downtime in a warehouse or workshop costs money, so our focus is on getting things right the first time, planning shutdowns with the site, and leaving clear records for the next person who works on the installation.
What we do for industrial sites
Machinery and three phase power
Workshops and manufacturers need three phase outlets and direct connections for compressors, welders, CNC equipment, hoists and production machinery. We size circuits and cables to AS/NZS 3008, install isolators where they are needed and connect equipment to the manufacturer’s requirements. See industrial electrical for more.
Warehouse lighting
Old metal halide high bays are slow to start, expensive to run and a maintenance headache at height. Replacing them with LED high bays, often with motion sensors in racking aisles, is one of the most common and cost-effective upgrades we do in Eagle Farm warehouses.
Switchboards and distribution
Sites that have grown over time often have a main board at capacity and a collection of sub-boards installed by different contractors. We can assess the whole distribution setup, upgrade or add commercial switchboards, and label everything properly.
Dock and yard equipment
Roller doors, dock levellers, yard lighting, gate motors and forklift charging bays all need reliable power. Forklift chargers in particular are often added without much thought to the circuit they are on.
Preventing breakdowns
For busy industrial sites, planned maintenance costs far less than an unplanned stoppage. We offer:
- Thermal imaging of switchboards to find hot joints and overloaded circuits
- Test and tag of portable equipment under AS/NZS 3760
- Emergency and exit light testing under AS/NZS 2293
- Scheduled maintenance visits with written reports
Moving into a new unit
If you are leasing a warehouse or workshop in Eagle Farm or Pinkenba, get the electrical assessed before you sign or move equipment in. Many units are leased with a basic supply and lighting only. We can look at the incoming supply, the main board and your equipment list, then quote the work needed to get the site running. This avoids finding out on day one that the compressor will not start.
Close to the river and the bay
Being close to the river mouth and Moreton Bay means salt air and humidity reach many of these sites. Outdoor fittings, yard lighting and exposed switchgear corrode faster here than further inland, and we recommend suitable IP-rated and corrosion-resistant equipment for outdoor locations.
Site requirements
