Before you call: what helps us quote
Worongary properties vary so much that a few details up front make a big difference to how quickly we can give you an accurate price. If you can, send us:
- A photo of your main switchboard with the door open
- Photos of where the new work will go
- For sheds or outbuildings, a rough distance from the house and what you plan to run
- Any access notes, such as gates, dogs or steep driveways
With that, small jobs can often be quoted without a visit, and larger ones can be planned properly.
Acreage and lifestyle blocks
A lot of Worongary is made up of larger blocks with homes set back from the road, often with sheds, workshops, pools and second dwellings. The typical electrical work follows from that:
- Sub-mains and sub-boards to sheds and granny flats, sized to AS/NZS 3008 for the distance
- Outdoor and security lighting for driveways and yards
- Gate motor and intercom circuits
- Pump and tank circuits on properties not on town water
Storms that come over the hills can do real damage to exposed equipment. If you’ve had surges knock out gate motors or electronics, surge protection at the main board is worth discussing. Our fault finding service tracks down damage after storms.
Working from home
Worongary’s space and quiet suit people running a business from home, whether that’s an office, a studio, a workshop or a small trade setup in the shed. These spaces need more than a couple of power points. Common requests include dedicated circuits for equipment, good task lighting, air conditioning, and data points so the office isn’t relying on patchy Wi-Fi from the other end of the house.
For workshops with heavier machinery, we’ll look at whether your supply can handle the load. Welders, compressors and larger tools may need a dedicated circuit, and in some cases a supply upgrade. We’ll explain the options and costs before anything goes ahead.
Newer homes in Worongary
Newer homes in the suburb are generally in good electrical shape, but owners often want additions within a few years: an EV charger, extra outdoor power, ceiling fans or smart lighting. Older acreage homes
Older Worongary homes, especially those from the 1980s and earlier, often have original switchboards and wiring that has been added to by several owners. A switchboard upgrade brings everything under safety switch protection and gives you capacity for new work. We’ll also check that earlier additions were done properly.
Close to our base
Worongary is a short drive from our Mudgeeraba base, so it’s one of our regular areas. Stefan does the work himself, quotes in writing before starting and issues a compliance certificate at the end.
